When trying to update mailbase from 0.00-r6 to 0.00-r8 with installed courier-imap I get errors about a conflicts in /etc/pam.d for "pop3" and "imap". According to qpkg both files belong to courier-imap. It seems mailbase wants to replace them but can't due to a missing line "# Provided by mailbase (dont remove this line!)". I've seen this bug on two boxes, one K6-2 and a P3, both using courier-imap. On three other boxes (2 Athlon-XP, 1 P2) without courier-imap, there was no such problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install mailbase-0.00-r6 2. Install courier-imap-4.0.1 3. Update mailbase to mailbase 0.00-r8 Actual Results: Step 3 produces the following output: >>> emerge (1 of 1) net-mail/mailbase-0.00-r8 to / * Checking for possible file collisions... * //etc/pam.d/pop3 exists and wasn't provided by mailbase * //etc/pam.d/imap exists and wasn't provided by mailbase * Those files listed above have to be removed in order to * install this version of mailbase. * If you edited them, remember to backup and when restoring make * sure the first line in each file is: * # Provided by mailbase (dont remove this line!) !!! ERROR: net-mail/mailbase-0.00-r8 failed. !!! Function pkg_setup, Line 50, Exitcode 0 Expected Results: Update mailbase from 0.00-r6 to 0.00-r8
I can confirm this on our server, exactly the same issue.
It is safe to remove those files. wrt #79240 Just wait for courier-imap maintainer to conform that bug. Cheers, Ferdy
