An emerge of kportage 0.5 doesn't merge whatever package contains kdesu as well,
making the package unrunnable from the Gnome Applications menu.

kportage depends on kdebase, which provides kdesu, so it should work.

could you please post the output of emerge -s kdebase?

Hi. Sorry, I think it's just me being dumb. I think that I had installed kdebase
and kdesu in the same session and so the path was incorrect. Does this sound
plausible?

Having said that, I've now down an emerge of kde and I can't find kportage in
the KDE menu under Gnome. I'll open another bug for this if I don't figure it
out in the next couple of days.
