First of all, I am sorry for my bad english. I'm not so confident if I can say my problems exactly. XMMS doesn't display CJK tags. It doesn't show any korean, japanese unicode tags. It only shows english titles, track numbers. I use UTF-8 locale and have some mp3s those are written in unicode tags.(I used tag&rename for tags, a windows program) I looked into patches and decided I would not patch some files. They are... 0050_all_libxmms-charset.patch 2012_all_mpg123-id3convert.patch 2013_all_mpg123-latin-id3.patch 2014_all_mpg123-encode-override.patch After emerging xmms without those patches, My xmms displays CJK unicode tags correctly. Are those patch files essential? I don't know why those are necessary.
My xmms and mpg123 plugin: [ebuild R ] media-sound/xmms-1.2.10-r13 -3dnow +alsa +arts -debug +directfb +esd +flac -jack -lirc -mad +mikmod +mmx +mp3 +nls +oggvorbis +oss -sndfile 0 kB [ebuild R ] media-plugins/xmms-mpg123-1.2.10-r1 +ipv6 +ssl 0 kB I emerged both xmms and mpg123 plugin without above patches.
Well, I don't know what happened to me. I've used xmms and couldn't see any tags for about 6 months. (About 6 months ago, I switched my locale from eucKR to utf8, and switched mp3's tags to unicode too.) Yesterday, I emerged xmms without some patches, everything seemed so perfect. But I thought "If I had some screenshots, I could give a full detail of my problems". So, to take some screenshots, I installed xmms with those patches again. But it showed tags correctly!! I installed new gentoo to the new pc last month, but it's xmms didn't show cjk tags either. All I did this time is just that I emerged xmms without some patches and then emerged xmms with patches again. Weird. Anyway, all my problems seem so far away, so I close this bugs by myself.
