Does the file /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so exist?
Comment 2 Tomasz Mloduchowski 2005-02-19 06:09:05 UTC
check if /usr/lib64/libGL.so exists, use opengl-update to change to proper one

I could not reproduce your problem on my machine, both with xorg GL and ATI's one
Comment 3 Chad Granum 2005-02-19 08:44:59 UTC
root@Abydos exodist # find /usr/ -name *libGL.so
/usr/lib/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so
/usr/lib/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGL.so
/usr/lib/libGL.so
/usr/lib32/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGL.so
/usr/lib32/libGL.so
/usr/lib64/libGL.so

root@Abydos exodist # ls -la /usr/lib64/libGL.so
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 39 Feb 19 11:07 /usr/lib64/libGL.so -> /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so

 ls -la /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so
ls: /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so: No such file or directory

--so no it apparently does not exist, as well I am curious as to why it is not using nvidia's libgl cause I use nvidia and have run opengl-update nvidia

root@Abydos exodist # opengl-update nvidia
 * Switching to nvidia OpenGL interface...
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
 * Caching service dependencies...                                        [ ok ]
root@Abydos exodist # env-update
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
 * Caching service dependencies...
root@Abydos exodist # ls -la /usr/lib64/libGL.so
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 39 Feb 19 11:07 /usr/lib64/libGL.so -> /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/lib/libGL.so

even after opengl-update to nvidia it is still inked there, should I manually link it to the nvidia libgl?
Comment 4 Chad Granum 2005-02-19 15:58:07 UTC
I manually linked to the nvidia libgl.so and it compiled fine.
Comment 5 Danny van Dyk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-09 19:06:29 UTC
The newly stabilized xorg-x11 and opengl-update have taken care of this.
