Folks, after emerge -DNu world, I have trouble with udev. May be this is not udev-related...but dmesg point to udev. What I do: 1. emerge --sync && emerge -DNu world 2. update kernel from 5.10.77 ==> 5.10.79 (vanilla-sources, minor changes, trivial ...) zcat /proc/config.gz > .config && make oldconfig && ..... as always. 3. Reboot server. 4. disks layout: 1 - system + raw encrypted 3 disks. 5. lvm in runlevel [boot] 6. After boot, open disks via: cryptsetup open /dev/sdb esdb && cryptsetup open /dev/sdc esdc && cryptsetup open /dev/sdd esdd 7. After first time enter password, I see in dmesg: [ 168.808449] udevd[2736]: failed to execute '/usr/bin/systemd-run' '/usr/bin/systemd-run -r --no-block --property DefaultDependencies=no --uni t lvm-activate-evg lvm vgchange -aay --nohints evg': No such file or directory 8. I restart lvm - all work nice, LVM correctly detect devices. 9. Remove lvm from boot, reboot server. 10. Decrypt disks - no errors. 11. Start lvm - no errors. We are lost possibility auto start and mount via fstab, if we are start lvm by hand. What is it? How to resolve? lvm2 version: sys-fs/lvm2-2.03.14 With best wishes - Yuriy.
Note, that all sys-fs/eudev versions are masked. It is sad to read that you have problems with the software. The situation seems to be a bit more complicate and requires some analysis. We can not help you efficiently via bug tracker. This would take for months. I have had very good experience on the gentoo IRC [1] with questions like this. Of course there are also forums and mailing lists [2,3]. I hope you understand, that I will close the bug here therefore and wish you good luck on one of the mentioned channels [4]. Please reopen the ticket in order to provide an indication for an specific error in an ebuild or any gentoo related product.
