Description Alexandru Toma 2005-02-17 09:21:18 UTC
A week or so ago some the View Bugs Reported Today link on the front page stopped working. After I click on it Firefox just says "Waiting for bugs.gentoo.org..." in the status bar and it keeps waiting until it times out. Another link that doesn't work is the Search button on the Advanced search page: http://bugs.gentoo.org/query.cgi?format=advanced ... After I click on Search or hit enter, the same thing happens.

Please note that I have tried this in several browsers:
Firefox 1.0
Opera 7.54
w3m 0.51

The same thing happens in all of them, so I don't think this is a browser problem. Also, as I said above, this started happening a week or so ago.

Reproducible: Always

same problem here.
I failed to discover what part of the query blocks bugzilla but I can tell you one reproductible path to freeze.

In my account, I have a saved query (net-dialup open bugs) which works very well, except the momment I want to edit it.

Forget that some ;)

Searching for "new ebuild files" or "bugs.gentoo timeout" for example (without the quotes, of course), has the effect described above.

This bug is invalid from my point of view.

I've find out that my provider (Astral) has activated some sort of filter on big GETs. I suspect this is also reporter's problem since its name indicate to me that he is Romanian ;).
Comment 4 Alexandru Toma 2005-02-22 12:54:08 UTC
Yes, I'm also from Romania and my ISP is Astral... Is there a way to bypass this filter?

I'll mark this INVALID then if you're sure that's the problem.

I've sent a complaint to Astral admins. I'm sure they will fix this one.

As a workaround, you could use http://bugs.gentoo.org:443

Astral admins have solved the problem.
