I gather that in vanilla OOo [windows?] builds, one thing that happens on installation is that you're offered a chance to upgraed your existing installation. Obviously that doesn't make sense in the Linux world where package management is provided by OS tools, but after digging around I still can't figure out how to upgrade a user's personal environment. When I recently installed the 1.1.4 based openoffice-ximian 1.3.8 (upgrading from the 1.1.2 based 1.3.5), I discovered that once again I'd "lost" my preferences and dictionary... which makes sense, as they are still in the .xopenoffice/1.1.2 directory - but the new oo-x doesn't know to look there and migrate. What procedure is to be followed to upgrade a user? That this is not obvious or automatic is what merits a bug filing. AfC
Upgrading is a difficult topic with OOo, normally there is no upgrade path available. Anyway we provide a migration if you don't skip versions. The problem is that you upgraded from 1.1.2 based directly to 1.1.4 based. Anyway, there is not a lot we can do here
