unable to load module manually too Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.use a VT8385 (VIA) K8T800 2.boot (doscsi) 3.hwdetect (in module load) stops
At what point does it stop? When it is manually loading the modules, and listing them? If so, which is the last one it shows?
Uhm, I've setup a system using most of the hardware you're referring to. There is no need to pass 'doscsi' to the boot prompt, you can just boot normally and then modprobe any necessary bits to get your SATA access. modprobe sata_via modprobe sata_promise The above two modules are the most commonly used ones for VIA K8T800 chipsets. The second one enables support for SATA disks on any SATA RAID controllers (Promise) while the first one is for any other disks. Hope this helps somewhat, if you still have errors can you please post more detailed information (like Chris requested) so I can try to reproduce ??
is this still an issue with 2005.0?
I don't believe there should be a problem like this assuming he tries what I mentioned above, since there has been no reply and we've moved into a different release, I'm going to close this bug =)
