I use Xfce desktop with Adwaita theme.
Note that both Qt and GTK programs on my system look fine.
Let's close this for now. If the problem persists with recent versions please open a new bug.
The problem still persists with libreoffice-bin 7.6.4.1 (with gnome flag disabled and java/kde flags enabled). I use Xfce destop. Running libreoffice with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5 correctly loads kf5 VCL plugin and fixes the appearance.
There is nothing we can do about it. Upstream expects you to use GTK3 with XFCE, as can be seen in vcl/source/app/salplug.cxx when grep'ing for DESKTOP_XFCE. (and, following that lead:) > static const char* const pStandardFallbackList[] = > { > #if ENABLE_GTK3 > "gtk3", > #endif > #if ENABLE_GEN > "gen", > #endif > nullptr > }; ... and I must say using libreoffice-bin[kde] instead of [gnome] is an odd choice for Xfce. We are not making changes in that area, you would have to convince upstream to try harder at a fallback before falling back to "gen".
(In reply to Andreas Sturmlechner from comment #6) > There is nothing we can do about it. That said, I will happily backport an upstream commit if your initiative were to succesfully convince upstream of adding qt5 or qt6 to either a special XFCE fallback or even a general one.
> That said, I will happily backport an upstream commit if your initiative were > to succesfully convince upstream of adding qt5 or qt6 to either a special XFCE > fallback or even a general one. To be honest, I don't see a value in this. Libreoffice build from official Gentoo binhost already has gtk3, qt5 and qt6 backends simultaneously and works exactly like I want in this regard. Moreover, it has more flexible dependencies (e.g. it provides gtk3 backend without the hard need to depend on EDS). So I would even question what value libreoffice-bin package adds now that there is official Gentoo binhost. Maybe it is worth to consider deprecating it?
