Description Adrian Almenar 2002-09-21 10:17:23 UTC
The xalan ebuild on portage points to xalan-j-2_4_D1 which is a prerelease.

im uploading the modified ebuild that works compiles ok on g2 1.4 and is the
release on xalan 2.4

Im marking it as critical cause i tried to compile it on clean instaled g2 1.4,
and actual ebuild never compiles (6 boxes and always de same errors).

Cheers

i actually tried it with PORTAGE_OVERLAY and it compiled perfect and worked,
also i tested it with my app and its ok.

I recommend the ebuild name must be xalan-2.4-r1.ebuild, so everyone on g2 1.2,
1.4 gets the release version and not the prerelease that has some error (Told by
xalan devs).

Also, i want to add, if i want to maintain these packages what i need to do, i
enjoy making ebuilds and testing them.

So how can i be a gentoo developer.

is there a test needed ??

Good catch! I've fixed this one now, named it -r1 as you suggested. As for
becoming a developer, start by hanging out on #gentoo-dev on OPN, and bug me for
work :)

If you appear to have the time and skill, I'll be more than happy to recommend
you to the powers that be. My handle is (not surprisingly) karltk.
