A pre-snapshot of cm3-2.5.7 is out, and as I understand, it includes a few
important fixes, especially for cvsup on powerpc.

I was able to build cm3 using this patch (and the one in bug 81799) and the compiler appears to work.  cm3-5.2.6 does not build for me.

Mike, you are aware of the fact that the patch provided in bug 70805
is for a newer version than the one here, at least for x86?
bug 70805 should also fix the runtime problem mentioned on
the m3devel list.

i added an ebuild for the 20050331 snapshot ... so i dont understand ;)

Ok, that snapshot is fine for x86.
Note that the 2004-10-31 snapshot should be used for ppc atm.
Whether the 2005-03-31 update matters for ppc has not yet been determined.

It doesn't seem to compile with GCC 4.1.1. But when I switch to GCC 3.4.5 vanilla,  it completed its compilation.

By the way, I think you got the version number mixed up. 5.2.7 instead of 2.5.7
