All night long after syncing portages 'emerge -f xmms' cannot fetch xmms-1.2.10-gentoo-patches-2.2.2.tar.bz2 from any mirror it tries. Even by hands I cannot find this file anywhere over the Internet.

this is cause this is a tarball that is created by gentoo with our patch set. it will be up on the devs page soon enough just hold tight i am sure Eradicator is working on updating his download links.

Not to mention that it's roughly 8 hours later and the patches are still not up, I wonder, how could a ebuild be released to the public, even if in ~x86, if it can't be installed by anyone?! If patches aren't available yet, don't release the e-build!

Not that i don't appreciate the work done :)

I uploaded them... sorry about that, and as for releasing an ebuild before it can be built, that is not the case. ebuilds are always tested before release.  The problem was I had the patches, but they weren't online yet... sorry...

how do you mean however, to test the ebuilds they have to be 'released'. I agree, but how can we test the ebuilds without beeing able to get patches needed by the ebuild?

I kinda figured the ebuild should only be released when all dependancies have been met.

Great though, going to update right away : )
