Hi I am running portage over macos and after emerge sync and emerge -uvD world I am getting the following error: * file /var/tmp/portage/cpio-2.6-r2/image///usr/share/man/man1/cpio.1 was installed with group portage! >>> Completed installing cpio-2.6-r2 into /var/tmp/portage/cpio-2.6-r2/image/ * checking 22 files for package collisions existing file /usr/share/man/man1/cpio.1 is not owned by this package * spent 0.302905082703 seconds checking for file collisions * This package is blocked because it wants to overwrite * files belonging to other packages (see messages above). * If you have no clue what this is all about report it * as a bug for this package on http://bugs.gentoo.org package app-arch/cpio-2.6-r2 NOT merged No package files given... Grabbing a set.
This is due to a problem with portage not properly gzipping manpages in previous releases. Please update portage to version 2.0.51.16 and reopen if this still remains a problem.
Umm, there has to be more to it than that because I'm getting the problem while running 'emerge system'. No workee. * checking 7 files for package collisions existing file /usr/share/man/man1/cpio.1 is not owned by this package * spend 0.00319504737854 seconds checking for file collisions * This package is blocked because it wants to overwrite * files belonging to other packages (see messages above). * If you have no clue what this is all about report it * as a bug for this package on http://bugs.gentoo.org package app-arch/cpio-2.6-r1 NOT merged No package files given... Don't run emerge system yet. Run "emerge portage" and make sure it upgrades to at least 2.0.51.16. *Then* emerge system.
