Description Eric Ding 2005-02-09 14:52:20 UTC
After installing ghostscript-afpl 8.15, I've been trying and trying to get printing with cups working, with no success for days, forcing me to revert
to ghostscript 7.07* (the ESP version). On every print job, I simply see
"No pages found!" in the cups error log.

But I just found the problem with 8.15 -- the pstoraster script, which is
copied from the cups distribution, doesn't work with 8.15 as is. To get it
working, just add a "-" at the end of the line in the script which calls gs!
Printing now works fine!

BTW, I also note that the pstoraster script in ESP's SVN repository reflects
some more complex changes, but among them is a change which effectively does
just this.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

I've had the same problem and your fix works, but now I have another problem:
The first few lines "are skipped" and not printed?? I would appreciate any hint...

Comment 3 Eric Ding 2005-06-07 10:29:53 UTC
Created attachment 60782 [details, diff]
patch for pstoraster (adds hyphen to end of gs command line)

It's been a while since I made the change, and I'm not entirely sure where
pstoraster lives and should be patched during installation, but I believe this
patch covers the change.
