Description Tim Mohlmann 2021-09-14 18:39:42 UTC
On a fresh install on app-emulation/snapd-2.51 snapd.apparmor.service fails with following log message:

Sep 14 20:28:28 rog systemd[1]: Starting Load AppArmor profiles managed internally by snapd...
Sep 14 20:28:28 rog snapd-apparmor[941]: File /var/lib/snapd/apparmor/profiles/* not found, skipping...
Sep 14 20:28:28 rog systemd[1]: snapd.apparmor.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=123/n/a
Sep 14 20:28:28 rog systemd[1]: snapd.apparmor.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
Sep 14 20:28:28 rog systemd[1]: Failed to start Load AppArmor profiles managed internally by snapd.

The profiles directory indeed seems to be empty:

~# ls -al /var/lib/snapd/apparmor/profiles/
total 8
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Sep 14 21:31 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Sep 8 20:52 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 14 21:31 .keep_app-emulation_snapd-0

equery also reports no files where installed:

~$ equery f app-emulation/snapd | grep apparmor
/etc/apparmor.d
/etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.snapd.snap-confine.real
/lib/systemd/system/snapd.apparmor.service
/usr/lib/snapd/snapd-apparmor
/var/lib/snapd/apparmor
/var/lib/snapd/apparmor/profiles
/var/lib/snapd/apparmor/profiles/.keep_app-emulation_snapd-0
/var/lib/snapd/apparmor/snap-confine
/var/lib/snapd/apparmor/snap-confine/.keep_app-emulation_snapd-0

Also tried downgrade to 2.48. Same issues, unit fails and directory remains empty.
