Quite simply, whenever I click edit in acroread my whole X server freezes. Fortunately, as soon as I end the acroread process in a terminal and press a keyboard short cut of some sort in X then all is fine again. I've tried this with a grand plethera of PDF's to make sure it wasn't the file I was opening. The problem does NOT occur without a document open. I'm not sure if this was an issue with 5.09 because it ran too poorly for everyday use. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open acrobat reader 5.10 with a document open. 2.Click the edit menu. 3.Enjoy! Actual Results: The whole X server stopped responding. Expected Results: It should have shown me the edit menu. I found it time for me to change GTK themes tonight, and just by chance I slipped and hit the edit menu on acroread... and it worked! It would seem that the Nuvola GTK theme caused the problem. I tried switching back to it and the crash reappeared, then went away once again when changing to a different theme.
I have same problem, but I have no themes (other that default, I suppose) installed. It IS config-related, because other users on same machine have no problem ... but I have no idea where to look for that config. Should I open another bug ?
Is worse :-(. I closed all application (in prepare to try restart X), tried again - and no problem. I'll try to make better report next time ...
That idea behind it going away when I changed themes was a fluke apparently. Since then its caused me more grief, but now that acrobat reader 7 is out for linux, I don't have that problem anymore. Although it is terribly bloated, it looks much nicer and keyboard shortcuts and the mouse wheel actually work!
