I can compile a kernel and kernel modules without problem! This is always present: checking for suffix of executables... configure: error: cannot compute suffix of executables: cannot compile and link I have already replace gcc and gcc-config with older versions with binary packages from http://dev.gentoo.org/~avenj/ That didn't help :( It's probably something screamingly obvious, but I thought it best to report it anyways. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge [whatever source package] Actual Results: checking for suffix of executables... configure: error: cannot compute suffix of executables: cannot compile and link Expected Results: to emerge (compile) and install. Pleasse attatch /var/tmp/portage/<pachage>/work/<package>/config.log also, try running this: # { cat > test.c && gcc test.c -o test && ./test; echo $?; } << EOF int main() { return 0; } EOF
get back to us with something useful
