Description ted liou 2021-08-25 20:54:27 UTC
Emerge tries to fetch from http://distfiles.gentoo.org/distfiles/ec/libogg-1.3.5.tar.xz

File is not there. It can be manually downloaded from https://distfiles.gentoo.org/distfiles/libogg-1.3.5.tar.xz

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Run emerge libogg
Actual Results:
Error message: * Fetch failed for 'media-libs/libogg-1.3.5'

Expected Results:
emerge runs and install libogg.

Discussion on forum suggested that a distfiles mirror is not set up properly somewhere. fedeliallalinea and eccerr0r both reproduced the error.

This is still a bug. I fixed it on my private mirror with a symbolic link and it works, but this probably needs to get fixed on the master rsync mirror.

A couple of months later and it's still happening. Any news?

I shamelessly went ahead and removed the file from masterdist. Let's see if it is refetched correctly.

I'm sorry about the problem. The symlink has been created on masterdist correctly now. I'm afraid we don't have any logs that could be useful in determining why it wasn't created correctly before.

It's probably worthwhile to add a periodic check for missing links, just in case.
