I get a different error, K6-2 400, fresh Gentoo 1.4_r1 from stage3-k6-2 tarball with default flags. CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-mcpu=k6-2 -march=k6-2 -O3 -pipe" CXXFLAGS="-mcpu=k6-2 -march=k6-2 -O3 -pipe" It looks like the old http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4598#c31 . One more thing, it compiles for 3 hours or so and always runs the copyrights/license over the screen, as can be seen partly here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4598#c33 And now to the final error message: /bin/install -c -m 644 ./jw.html /var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/image//usr/doc/html/docbook-utils-0.6.11-r2/jw.html /bin/install: cannot stat `./jw.html': No such file or directory /bin/install -c -m 644 ./sgmldiff.html /var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/image//usr/doc/html/docbook-utils-0.6.11-r2/sgmldiff.html /bin/install: cannot stat `./sgmldiff.html': No such file or directory make[3]: *** [install-htmlDATA] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc/HTML' make[2]: *** [install-am] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc/HTML' make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc' make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 !!! I have the same problem described by Sven, running a k6-2 500.
The same over here, with an k6-III 400 and gentoo 1.4_rc1 CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-mcpu=k6-2 -march=k6-2 -O3 -pipe" CXXFLAGS="-mcpu=k6-2 -march=k6-2 -O3 -pipe" /var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/image//usr/doc/html/docbook-utils-0.6.11-r2/sgmldiff.html /bin/install: cannot stat `./sgmldiff.html': No such file or directory make[3]: *** [install-htmlDATA] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc/HTML' make[2]: *** [install-am] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc/HTML' make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc' make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 !!! I've tried the solutions mentioned in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4598#c31 but they didn't work for me.:-(
Hmmm, there seems to be something that doesn't work well with K6-2 machines cause I had no problem with it on my Athlon-Tbird yesterday. I had that exact same error before on fresh Gentoo 1.3a and 1.3b installs ...
I have an Athlon 1.2GHz, and I saw the problem. For me, re-emerging sgml-common fixed it though, as per discussions in bug 4598.
In a Duron 1000, re-emerging sgml-common makes no difference... The error persists in the same place, with a lot of ... parameter entity "....mix" not defined.
please see Bug 4598 to see if its related ... i'm fairly certain its the same exact one ;) i'm leaving this open though so that we can find a solution :x
Please see http://lists.gentoo.org/pipermail/gentoo-user/2002-September/031971.html
Ok, I think I've found the problem, after examining the data and having been pushed by mmc on #gentoo. I'll be submitting a new ebuild for openjade; basically the K6 opts were messing it up and giving baaaaad output. The ebuild should hit portage sometime soon - but, until then, if you want to upgrade, try removing your CFLAGS in /etc/make.conf and recompiling openjade.
Ok, openjade-1.3.1-r5 should fix these problems. Please test -- all of you! -- and post results below. Currently -r5 is masked, so you will have to edit package.mask and then emerge -u openjade && emerge docbook-sgml-utils .
Works for me on my K6-2 400 laptop :D
did it also for me. :-)
k6-III
Works on my k6-2 500 aswell. Thanks :)
Hmm... it didn't do the trick for me ;-( Looks like it's not AMD specific [see below] ..... jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/dsssl-stylesheets-1.77/html/../common/../common/dbl1sr.dsl:2:66:W: cannot generate system identifier for public text "ISO 8879:1986//ENTITIES Added Latin 2//EN" jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/dsssl-stylesheets-1.77/html/../common/../common/dbl1sr.dsl:3:5:E: reference to entity "lat2" for which no system identifier could be generated jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/dsssl-stylesheets-1.77/html/../common/../common/dbl1sr.dsl:2:0: entity was defined here make[2]: *** [api.html] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/mnt/root/gentoo/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc/HTML' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/root/gentoo/tmp/portage/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2/work/docbook-utils-0.6.11/doc' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 !!! Unmasking. Looks liek that last error is a different problem, so I'm requesting a new bug be opened for it.
