I've emerged xine-ui 0.9.23-r2, and earlier it worked. But suddenly(?) it stoped working. Don't remember what I've done to get it stop working. When I start it(from CLI, as normal user), i get the following error: suizide@jokke suizide $ xine This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.9.23. (c) 2000-2003 The xine Team. xiTK WARNING(xitk_font_load_font:432): loading font "*-lucida-*-i-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" failed, default and system fonts "(null)" and "fixed" failed too xiTK WARNING(xitk_font_load_font:432): loading font "fixed" failed, default and system fonts "(null)" and "fixed" failed too xiTK DIE: create_labelofbutton()@121: xitk_font_load_font() failed. Exiting xiTK received SIGSEGV signal, RIP. Killed I've tried running it as root also, without luck. Also tried to re-emerge both xine-lib and xine-ui, after an emerge sync, to see if there's any new updates. No luck. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge xine-ui 2. 3. Actual Results: Didn't help me much Expected Results: Started up right, without those errors, and let me play movies/dvds. I'm running Gnome, and XMMS was also running. But nothing else. *** Bug 80968 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I now emerged xine-ui 0.9.23-r2 and xine-lib 1_rc8-r1, since I'm not sure if the error is in xine-lib or xine-ui. But after this emerge, it worked as it should. The fonts are pretty ugly, though. Not like the ones I'm used to in xine. But it works, and that's what matters. :)
Newer xine-ui is now stable, this should be fixed.
