Description Jason McGuiness 2005-02-05 05:34:08 UTC
Unfortunately the linuxwacom-0.6.6 emerge breaks when sys-devel/libtool-1.5.10-r4 is installed. When sys-devel/libtool-1.5.2-r7 is used, linuxwacom compiles cleanly. The output when linuxwacom fails to emerge is:

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =sys-devel/libtool-1.5.10-r4
2. emerge linuxwacom
Actual Results:
...
checking for correct ltmain.sh version... no

*** Gentoo sanity check failed! ***
*** libtool.m4 and ltmain.sh have a version mismatch! ***
*** (libtool.m4 = 1.5.10, ltmain.sh = 1.4.2) ***

Please run:

  libtoolize --copy --force

if appropriate, please contact the maintainer of this
package (or your distribution) for help.
...

Expected Results:
I would expect linuxwacom to successfully emerge.

Should be an easy fix, Bryan.
Comment 3 Sebastian Spaeth 2005-02-08 06:46:34 UTC
heads up:
This is the same symptom as bug 80873 (capi4hylafax).
Does it need to be fixed package by package, or is there an underying libtool fix? In this case these are dupes.
Comment 4 Bryan Stine (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-08 19:07:31 UTC
Fixed in portage. Thanks.
Comment 5 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-08 20:02:10 UTC
Sebastian,
It's a large quantity of broken packages that were revealed by a change to libtool.
