Description Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-09-18 16:57:19 UTC
Multiplayer is not possible with the latest ebuild (incl. the first patch), it
does not matter if I use dedicated server or not, when someone else tries to
connect to my server the person gets "connection corrupted". This also happens
for myself, if I try to connext to my own dedicated server. This is the output
of ucc-bin (after "Game engine initialized"):

This is a problem with the 1080b-update, 1080c solves it

ut2003-demo-20020918-r2.ebuild

try this out ... if it works for you ill add it to CVS
Comment 3 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-09-20 02:52:44 UTC
It works, but two minor things to add:

a) At the end of install, there is the message about starting the game from
/usr/bin/ut2003-demo. There is no such file or symlink (at least for me after an
update). Back at home, I will try to do a clean install and see if that works

b) You forgot to change the header information ;-)
Comment 4 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-09-20 09:47:02 UTC
OK: Point a) was a local problem with my setup: I put the ebuild in
/usr/portage.local but forgot to copy over results.py etc. from the files-directory.

Sorry
