Please try version 1.1.31 and report here the results.
This should be fixed in net-dialup/mgetty-1.1.31-r1 - should be available in an hour. Please test it, it is package.mask'ed ATM.
I tested 31-r1 as requested, now it fails with: chgrp fax /var/tmp/portage/mgetty-1.1.31-r1/image//var/spool/voice/.code chgrp: cannot access `/var/tmp/portage/mgetty-1.1.31-r1/image//var/spool/voice/.code': No such file or directory make[1]: *** [vgetty-install] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/mgetty-1.1.31-r1/work/mgetty-1.1.31/voice' make: *** [vgetty-install] Error 2 !!! ERROR: net-dialup/mgetty-1.1.31-r1 failed. !!! Function src_install, Line 103, Exitcode 2 !!! (no error message) !!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.
replaced mgetty-1.1.31-r1 with a new version -- this one will install, but it will no longer create/replace /var/spool/voice/.code and /var/spool/voice/message/Index. see also #80366. Thanks for testing.
Latested version of mgetty-1.1.31-r1 installed OK. /djb
Shouldn't this be closed as FIXED? net-dialup/mgetty-1.1.36-r3 is out - and appears functional
