This bug is a tracker for the changes that should go into the network-based installation instructions when 2005.0 is released. Either as a patch or manually.

Use "emerge -e system" instead of "emerge system" when performing the stage2-to-stage3 step. Otherwise packages provided by stage1 and stage2 won't be rebuilt with the user's choice of CFLAGS/USE. If only USE has changed, they can do a "emerge --newuse system" instead.
