It is exactly the same bug as #74184, but since it concerns a different ebuild, I believe I should file a different bug report. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge psmisc The error occurs at least everytime I try it when doing a stage 1 installation. I have not tried it on an already installed system.
what version of psmisc ? 21.4 ? does 21.5 work ?
I had the problem with 21.4. I solved it by manually patching the ebuild. I see I did not mention that it was a gentoo hardened stage 1 installation I was doing, but the people on gentoo-hardened@gentoo.org said it wasn't a hardened issue (and I believe them).
no, it has nothing to do with hardened, but is a bug that is caused by the patches applied in the ebuild does 21.5 work for you ?
Trying 21.5... yep it works. Is it masked for a good reason so I should revert back to 21.4, or am I safe in keeping it?
no real reason, everything starts out in unstable so it can be tested i'll see about moving this to x86 stable
