You should update your `aclocal.m4' by running aclocal.
am-wrapper: /usr/bin/aclocal-1.4 is missing or not executable.
Please try emerging the correct version of automake.

Comment 1 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-03 12:35:08 UTC
It is in portage. The package is slotted now. You have to emerge all versions, not only the latest. Please reopen, if you think there's something else wrong.

On the other hand...
Comment 3 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-03 12:40:59 UTC
...Heinrich, would it be an idea to change the dependency to the correct version? I'm not sure, if there are still installations with unslotted autotools out there.
Comment 4 Colin Tinker 2005-02-03 12:48:57 UTC
I have just been reading about this on the forums and I think I understand. But if I emerge automake it does not put version 1.4 on unless I specify each version ie emerge =sys-devel/automake-1.4_p6 before I emerged them all like this I only had sys-devel/automake-1.9.3 confirmed by using equery list automake. Could this be a problem with the automake ebuild?
Comment 5 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-03 15:09:32 UTC
> Could this be a problem with the automake ebuild?

No. It's correct the way it is. The dependencies of the ebuilds which need a distinct automake version need to be fixed. The question is, when we (can) start to do this. By now you have to emerge an ebuild for every single slot by hand.
Comment 6 Omer Hasan 2005-02-03 18:28:16 UTC
It seems like theres a vulnerability in this release. openmotif 2.2.4 is supposed to fix it.

we now depend on the correct versions
