In the mldonkey world forums, lugdunum has announced that mldonkey will be blacklisted in the new server release due to some bug involving reposting the share list too often to the server. In this thread http://mldonkey.berlios.de/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3240&sid=aa2715599ba379d196f4321520a4959c there is information for a 2.5.16u-2 patched version that addresses this problem. Therefore, I request that a new ebuild is prepared soon, otherwise mldonkey will become unsuable soon. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Here's an updated 2.5.16-r9 ebuild that pulls & applies the mentioned u1/u2 patches. It built cleanly and is running fine as far as I can tell.

Good work, It compiled successfully with your ebuild, I have it running now. Let's see if these patches really solve the blacklisting problems.
Update: After several hours of heavy downloading, not a single server blacklist. It works!
I updated my page with patch_pack16u2. Please note that I am no longer working on the CVS 2-5-16 branch, this patch was made by Knocker. For easy access I put 16u2 on my webspace: http://download.berlios.de/pub/mldonkey/spiralvoice/patchpacks/patch_pack16u2.gz This patchpack, as always, has to be applied on vanilla CVS 2-5-16.

Just for the record: the -u patches should probably not be put into portage since a -v patch is supposedly coming up 'soon'. Stay tuned.

sorry I've been out a while. Anyways, why isn't the -v patch on spiralvoice's site yet?
Probably because Spiralvoice no longer works on the 2.5.16 branch anymore. Instead he stated in the MLDonkey World forums that he will focus his attention on the 2.5.29 branch. He also released version 2.5.28.1 on his site, it has much better RAM usage from any other mldonkey version. I 'm using 2.5.28.1 for several days now.
