Description Remy Bosch 2005-02-01 02:05:26 UTC
If you run jvmsetup as root, it will create this file. Useless, but it demonstrates the error in jvmsetup. This cuases users to be unable to set their javasetup. Thus java under OO is useless.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

In the mean time I got a solution here:

Could you please be a little bit more verbose about what the problem exactly is.

*) Why would you set your java-settings as root?

*) Why is java useless, which functionality does not work for you?

*) Which OOo version are you talking about? Vanilla OOo, ooo-ximian, ooo-bin?

For instance the docbook export mentioned in the forum post you quote works without problems for me. java setup should be picked up automatically.

I wouldn't if I did not have to. A normal user doesnot have writing privileges
   at "/".

*) Why is java useless, which functionality does not work for you?
Saving a Documen in simlified XML. There was one other, but I forgot...

*) Which OOo version are you talking about? Vanilla OOo, ooo-ximian, ooo-bin?
OO and OO-ximian. From source. No binairy packages tested (yet)

" Saving a Documen in simlified XML"

Works for me, so there must be something else wrong with your java setup

As is said before, works for me, closing
