Uhm... since when?

The last time I tried it, X wouldn't start. What wacom device do you have? Which versions of kernel an X do you have?
Comment 2 Jason McGuiness 2005-02-05 04:28:05 UTC
Hi,

Device: an old Wacom ArtPad II, using a serial port, Xorg lists it as a "KT-0405-R00 v1.3-2".
Kernel: output of "uname -a": "Linux eddie 2.6.10-gentoo-r6 #8 SMP Sun Jan 30 23:27:17 GMT 2005 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 250 AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux"
Xorg: output of "emerge --search xorg*": 6.8.0-r3

Evidence:
1. I have got my old Wacom ArtPad II working in Gimp-2.0.4, both eraser (with pressure) & cursor. Perhaps this had nothing to do with linuxwacom, but I followed the advice on "http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/gimp", and that seemed to make it work.
2. The pen works in X itself, both the tip, eraser and single button.

Anomalies:
1. I haven't seen the control panel it is supposed to have, which could be handy to have.

See also attached output of "Xorg.0.log".

Cheers,

Jason.

My inutos2 works great using the builtin kernel and xorg-x11 drivers, but if I try the linuxwacom ones, it crashes X.

In the future, pleasse just attatch the logs as text... it makes it alot easier on us.
Comment 5 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-19 10:54:07 UTC
0.6.7 has been keyworded.
Comment 6 Hal Engel 2005-05-09 18:07:10 UTC
When I emerge linuxwacom-0.6.7 on my amd64 system x becomes unstable and refuses to start most of the time. When I remove wacom support from the kernel it becomes stable again - of course the tablet no longer works at that point.

Also when I can get x to start I can't get the mouse to work in relative mode and the pen/eraser will not work on the full surface of either of my (dual head) screens. So these drivers have significant problems on amd64 machines.

I have a Graphire 2 USB tablet.

Does anyone know when we will get a version of this that works an amd64 systems?
Comment 7 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-09 18:14:57 UTC
the in-kernel drivers and the ones in xorg-x11 are sufficient for my needs, so youu can just use those if you have trouble with these ones...
