Description Robert Jan Schutten 2002-09-17 00:06:03 UTC
Hi there!

Attached is the file hotway.tgz, containing:

hotway/
hotway/hotway-0.4-r2.ebuild
hotway/files/
hotway/files/digest-hotway-0.4-r2
hotway/files/hotway.xinetd

This ebuild will build the hotway package, version 0.4-r2.
See homepage: http://people.freenet.de/courierdave/

The package is a hotmail to pop3 daemon. It is a good replacement for the
gotmail package, which seems like it is not being maintained very well these
days. Also this package relies on fetching the emails with the httpmail protocol
that MS Outlook Express also uses. Therefore this package is much less likely to
break when compared to packages that try to parse the hotmail web pages (like
gotmail).

The install depends on xinetd, and also contains the appropriate configuration
file for xinetd.

I suggest that this package ends up in category net-mail, the package name is
obviously hotway.

A new version of hotway (0.5.2) has just been released.
I updated my original ebuild & tested it on my system. It works (also with gcc3).

Attached is hotway.tgz, that contains the complete ebuild:
hotway/
hotway/files/
hotway/files/hotway.xinetd
hotway/files/digest-hotway-0.5.2
hotway/hotway-0.5.2.ebuild

Can this finally be put into portage...
If no one wants to do this, I'll volunteer to become the maintainer of this package...

This is in portage now, so should the bug be closed?

Can someone change the description in the ebuild to say "Hotmail to pop3 daemon" instead of "Hotail to pop3 daemon". The current way will mean that the package will never show up when a user types,

emerge -S hotmail

thus, it is a somewhat important change which should be made.

k I'll check on the spelling and close
