checking whether we are cross compiling... configure: error: in `/var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/gcc-11.1.0-r1/work/build/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/libgomp':
configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
See `config.log' for more details

one question.

why is it calling x86_64-pc-linux-gnu toolchain ?

did you change CHOST in make.conf ?

CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu"

^ this is incorrect.

it should be x86_64-gentoo-linux-musl
Comment 3 Georgy Yakovlev archtester gentoo-dev 2021-07-05 01:19:48 UTC
if you somehow managed to build something with incorrect CHOST I'd suggest full reinstall of that chroot/system. start clean, otherwise you going to be chased with hard to debug issues.

Oh no, you're right. I've copied/pasted the make.conf file and completely forgot to maintain the CHOST as musl
