arts does not allow the CPU to enter C3 state, thus eating up a lot of battery. Frankly, I can't see why this should happen (also, some months ago when I last checked, it was working like a charm).

Helpers or pointers to documentation would be gladly welcome :P

I don't think we can do much for that, I can only point you to bugs.kde.org,

I can suggest a small workaround... it's an init script that can be added to a
"battery" runlevel to save power.
