Description Henrik Johansson 2021-06-09 08:46:04 UTC
There is a GitHub pull request for a version bump of cura including dependencies to v4.9.1. I have built this in a local repository and emerging dev-libs/libarcus-4.9.1 fails when dev-python/sip-5.5.0 is installed. The former is not yet in portage but I'm trying to report this before it goes into the official repository.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge dev-python/sip-5.5.0
2. Emerge dev-libs/libarcus-4.9.1 from a local repository (not yet in portage, currently GitHub pull request)
Actual Results:
$ sudo emerge libarcus -1vO
[...]
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<string>", line 1, in <module>
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'sip'
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:230 (message):
Could NOT find SIP (missing: SIP_EXECUTABLE SIP_INCLUDE_DIRS)
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:594 (_FPHSA_FAILURE_MESSAGE)
  cmake/FindSIP.cmake:86 (find_package_handle_standard_args)
  CMakeLists.txt:32 (find_package)
[...]

Expected Results:
libarcus should build and install.

Comment 1 Sam James archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2021-06-10 03:19:32 UTC
This feels like more of something to handle in the new ebuild, right?
Comment 2 Mathy Vanvoorden 2021-06-10 06:53:28 UTC
I'm not sure why you are getting this, are you installing individual ebuilds? The ebuild has a hard dependency on <dev-python/sip-5 so emerge should downgrade your sip (it did for me, I tested)
Comment 3 Dennis Lamm gentoo-dev 2021-06-14 04:51:51 UTC
As Mathy stated there is already the hard dependency for a lesser version than SIP 5 in the ebuild. There is also an upstream-issue for libarcus to 'Update to SIP5', see https://github.com/Ultimaker/libArcus/issues/114.
