We have numerous reports of this happening: https://gist.github.com/gyakovlev/3bd89d9bdd15b7094cc2894f949b96df With Host: distfiles.gentoo.org set we would expect to see the gentoo mirror listing (but the result is debian, in case that is not clear.) Some thinking then: - bad POP? - bad machine in a pop? Some extra observations: distfiles.gentoo.org is not the same IP for every location; depending on client location (where the resolver is) cdn-77 will return some 'network-close' pop. 89.187.187.11 -> LA, CA 89.187.164.10 -> dallas, TX 89.187.164.39 -> dallas, TX So far reports of the bad outcomes (debian pages) are in the LA POP. (1) we may just drop the LA pop to see if it fixes it. (2) We should check the LA POP config. When I set distfiles.g.o to 89.187.187.11 (via editing /etc/hosts) I can confirm the incorrect content.

We resolved this with our CDN provider; it was a misconfiguration.
