Description LionsPhil 2005-01-24 14:03:46 UTC
The "--ask" option is ignored by emerge when performing the "metadata" action. This is pretty darn trivial, as a user is unlikely to have reason to change their minds about "metadata", but is inconsistent with other emerge operations (even "sync" respects "--ask").

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Run "emerge --ask metadata". Compare with, for example, "emerge --ask sync".
Actual Results:
Portage updates the metadata without asking first.

Expected Results:
Display a prompt along the lines of:
Do you want to update your Portage metadata? [Yes/No]

Looking through the batch of bugs, I'm not sure that some of these are
actually fixed in stable. Others, the requirements have possibly changed after
the initial fix was committed.

If you think this bug has been closed incorrectly, please reopen or ask that
it be reopened.
