I've been running xfce 4.0.6 I updated it to 4.2.0 using "emerge xfce4 xfce4extra" After this I couldn't run xfce. When I started xfce4 it provided the message (see attachment) A friend of mine, which is a member of the xfce4 development group, helped me. We found out that there was an old version of libxfce4util installed in /usr/local/lib. I removed this library and all worked fine again I remv Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge an old version of libxfce4 2. emerge the new version of xfce4 3. startxfce4 Actual Results: See attachment Expected Results: should start xfce4 It is hard to tell what's the source of these problem as I'm using xfce4 and gentoo for quite a long time and it's nearly impossible to figure out where the library in /usr/local/lib came from. I don't think there is a solution for this which can be done throuh modifying an ebuild or something. I just thought of putting it in here to help people experiencing the same problem....
