Is this worth the trouble to fix? (I'm not judging one way or the other, but it's worth asking) The summary suggests that the change would be in profile names, not in releng naming. But that would make for a more serious end-user migration plan.
This seems like the kind of thing that could be done when there is a new profile upgrade, since users will have to go through switching profile anyway.
