Description Jairo O. Pineros 2005-01-20 06:51:36 UTC
I just installed 2.6.10-gentoo-r5, i tried installing pcmcia-cs and it fails. pcmcia is suppose to be part of 2.6. I am using a Wireless NIC D-Link DWL-G650, it was working with 2.4 after installing madwifi-driver. With 2.6.10-gentoo-r5, the NIC is NOT available, I pulled it out and pushed it back in hoping that hotplug would see it, but no luck.

Do i need to do something special to make sure that pcmcia is working?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

You didn't post the output of "emerge info" as the form requests
You didn't say what happens when you try installing pcmcia-cs. Have you previously used/relied on pcmcia-cs before or was this just something you have tried?

Have you noticed that the PCMCIA options have changed in 2.6.10 and that you need to select support for your PCMCIA controller specifically?

Can you please show the failure message of pcmcia-cs?
