Description Sven Vermeulen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-19 12:50:12 UTC
E-mail sent to www@gentoo.org:
"""
In the "Knoppix Installation" section of this guide
(http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/altinstall.xml#doc_chap3) We are told to
bind-mound /dev and /proc. This caused out of disk space errors
during bootstrap, when the device nodes are being created, since They
are being created on the RAMdisk instead of the harddrive. I learned
this by reading the following forum topic:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=139260&highlight=knoppix+mknod+space+error

After ignoring these bind-mount instructions, bootstrap finished
succcessfully. So I think these instructions are in error.
