This problem appeared 3 years ago was fixed then recently the kms was broken where you got the wrong mode which you could correct by switching resolution. Now in 5.12 Intel has readded the black line on ivybridge HD graphics 4000. Raising bugs on freedesktop dosnt work. Please find a patch attached to fix the mid calculation.
