Description David Holm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-09-12 14:31:19 UTC
Hi,
the gentoo 1.2 install cd does not detect the "High Point ATA66 controller"
correctly. It gives a ton of dma errors. It works with the redhat cd.
Disabling the ata66 controller in the bios doesn't help either, all drives have
to be disconnected for gentoo to boot.

(I am reporting this for a friend, he refuses to get an account =)

Have him try our new 1.4 livecd iso (still in beta) at
http://www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/releases/1.4_rc1/ -- it should work. Post back
here letting me know whether it does. The stage1 tarball is in the /nocompress dir.

Sorry, that's /cdroot/nocompress.

Closing this bug, should really be working in the new ISO.
Comment 4 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:24:56 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
