Python's ebuild is trying to put libraries in /usr/lib instead of /usr/lib64

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.FEATURES=multilib-strict emerge python
2.
3.

Also python modules (such as the one included in dbus) fail as well.  Do the python maintainers upstream have a plan for multilib support... either by using different libdirs or subdirs (like perl)?  This NEEDS to be resolved by 2005.1

This should be fixed properly in 2.4-r2.
