Description Thomas Heinrichsdobler 2005-01-16 14:29:08 UTC
Hi!

Attached is the initial ebuild for transd-0.2.0. It was created by a friend of mine to enhance the transparency handling in Xorg, which is quite messy with "transset".

Description: "The new X.org releases have brought real transparency support to the X Window System. Unfortunately it is not really usable yet: only a demonstration program named "transset" is available.
transd fills this gap by providing a daemon which sets the transparency of user-defined applications to user-defined values."

I've submitted this ebuild since the author doesn't use gentoo and wanted to "let the world know about it" ;)

The homepage is http://transd.berlios.de/
and the files can be found at http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1573

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Interesting.
Comment 4 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-09-07 17:10:52 UTC
Upstream looks pretty dead right now, though the app is listed to be in good
condition. Thomas, has your friend abandoned this project?

He told me he would continue his work as soon as xcompmgr gets better. Until
that there is not much sense in it for him.

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug)
'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached
to this bug.
This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the
main tree.

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The
sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to
commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry
into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this
and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us.
We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time.

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Jeremy.
