Description Andrew Fuller 2005-01-16 13:17:03 UTC
the current (masked) ebuilds for mysql still hardcode --with-charset=latin1 even though http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/Charset-Unicode.html says utf8 is now supported as of 4.1 Could we have this changed to flag-dependant? (ie. the unicode flag)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. set Unicode USE flag
2. emerge mysql
3. check ./configure output

Actual Results:
still says latin1 charset

Expected Results:
set the charset to utf8

Andrew: in future, please name the exact category/ebuild-x.y you're referring to in the subject.
