While trying to emerge libwww-perl, my ebuild died with ACCESS VIOLATION messages while trying to copy files to the /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl directory. Later, while trying to emerge gimp, the ebuild died with the same message while trying to copy files to the same directory. Looking at the forums, it seems this is not an isolated incident. My USE flags: "mmx 3dnow sse cups X xv opengl fbcon kde qt arts -gnome ncurses sdl svga avi mpeg quicktime alsa dvd xmms oggvorbis encode pam ssl crypt spell truetype java perl libg++ mysql odbc innodb samba" I've since managed to get both gimp and libwww-perl to install, but I had to use the rather ugly "export SANDBOX_DISABLED=1" method.
Since I can only fix the ones that are brought to my attention... Gimp already has a bug open. Please search bugzilla for more information. Libwww-perl has been corrected. Please emerge rsync and try again.
emerge rsync'd and re-emerged libwww-perl, works fine now. Thanks
Excellent. Closing this one out. Thanks for your help!
