I just emerged pxes 0.9 and it replaced /bin/cpio from app-arch/cpio-2.5 with a symlink to /usr/bin/cpio which does not exist.

Hrrrmn... app-arch/cpio used to install into /usr/bin, which was why I had the symlink there.

Thanks for the report!  This should be fixed now.
