Hi

The code in /etc/init.d/keymaps puts the keyboard only in unicode mode for the first VC. But according to man unicode_start, the "Unicode mode is a parameter with a value per virtual console."
You can verify this misbehaviour by checking kbd_mode in the different VCs; only the first one will be in the intended mode.

I'm using baselyout-1.9.4-r6.

this was fixed in 1.11.x a while ago
