I noticed that the latest (and only available) ebuild for maude requires gcc 3.4.x. Is this really necessary? I'd like to install maude, but I don't want to install the new gcc! Is there any way to achieve this? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I've just removed the gcc3.4 patch and the gcc3.4 dependency from the ebuild and maude builds just fine and it does work, too. Are you guys really, really certain that gcc 3.4 is required?
As far as I remember, maude could be built with gcc 3.3.x and gcc 3.4.y with y at least 3. I am not sure how I could state this in DEPEND correctly, and so I thought since ~x86 users most likely use gcc 3.4, this statement is better than forcing you to use gcc 3.3. Suggestions for better solutions are highly welcome.
Modified the ebuild, I hope you'll like the new version better. Should hit your portage mirror soon.
I'll look at it. Thanks for your efforts!
