I don't know how this would be implemented but is there some way we could use debian software channels as a source of version information or packages? Example: google chrome and possibly other packages that provide a vendor-fed source. Intended benefit: make it simpler to update packages that are distributed by upstream as .deb files Reproducible: Always
It looks like we do use .debs for Chrome, so I'm not sure what's being asked for here.
Chrome also adds a separate software channel/source hosted by google instead of just canonical or debian, and it's used to monitor for updates
I really have no idea what's being asked for.
