Description Raymond Jennings 2021-03-24 20:56:43 UTC
I don't know how this would be implemented but is there some way we could use debian software channels as a source of version information or packages?

Example: google chrome and possibly other packages that provide a vendor-fed source.

Intended benefit: make it simpler to update packages that are distributed by upstream as .deb files

Reproducible: Always

It looks like we do use .debs for Chrome, so I'm not sure what's being asked for here.

Chrome also adds a separate software channel/source hosted by google instead of just canonical or debian, and it's used to monitor for updates

I really have no idea what's being asked for.
