This has been partially stabled on sparc (several months ago) and later ppc because no earlier version was keyworded

Note that this fixed bug 744955 in 0.9.6 so it looks like we should've done this a while ago anyway.

Can we proceed with stabilisation of this -r1 for consistency and to get that fix out?

Hey Sam!

Sorry I did not see this bug. I agree that there is no reason to hold back stabilizing -r1, the changes to the init system are so small that they should not introduce any bugs. Seeing that nobody else has answered with a clear no, I'd recommend you give them a week and if they say nothing you go ahead with stabilization :)
